Altered wedding picture frame

Welcome to my first reveal for the Southern Girls Challenge blog! I was so excited to get started and then read my first assignment...flowers...ugh.  They are probably the one thing you will never see in any of my books, except for our wedding album.  Flowers are just not something I'm good at working  with.  Always up for a challenge though, I got down to business, and am darn pleased with what I came up with!
DH and I will be married nine years this year, and can you believe I have not one wedding picture anywhere in our house!  I decided with this challenge to rectify that.  I got out my circle punch and got business cutting scalloped circles, inking, misting them, and making shaping into flowers.  Yes, you read that right, I made the flowers for this project. Leave me a comment if you'd like me to do a video because they are super easy, and you get great results!
The lace I used is from Hobby Lobby, and when you are only buying a yard is quiet reasonably priced.  To bring more of our wedding colors into the frame, and add a little more pizazz, I added pearls as the center of of each lace flower.
I hope you will join us over at the challenge blog.  I especially challenge you if you think flowers aren't you thing.  You may just surprise yourself, like I did, and love what you came up with.

March SSIB Reveal: Love Layout

Happy Friday everyone.  Quite a busy weekend ahead here so I'm sharing my SSIB layout with you today. We we're given this awesome photo as our inspiration.
I was instantly inspired by the heart to create a layout of my sister and son.  He just loves her to death!  I used all Doodlebug papers, and some of their brads and punch outs as well.  I loved my new Janna Werner flair from Scrapbook and More that I used a piece of that well.
I also was late enough in getting this done, something that's not usually like me, that I was able to use the Child's Play Challenge pipe cleaner as inspiration too.  I used a pink pipe cleaner to create the heart in the bottom corner. Let me tell you though...the picture just doesn't do this layout justice.
I will be giving this layout to my sister before she returns to college from spring break.  Hope you enjoyed my reveal, and that we inspire you to join some new challenges! Have a great weekend.
I am also submitting this for Sketch~N~Scrap's inspire us challenge.

Green Beer St. Patty's Day Card

It's my day to reveal over on the Get Inky Blog.  Their latest challenge is St. Patty's Day/use green.     My family is not Irish, but you can't help hear about green beer so that's where my inspiration came from. I used Get Inky's jar and handle to create a beer mug and then used a blending tool to ink it a light green.  The shamrocks are cut from patterned paper.  I attached the mug to the card using an action wobble.  It made me think of people having to much, and sloshing their mug around...silly I know!
Will you be joining us for this challenge?  Don't forget the top three are design team chosen so you're work is always seen!

Spring Butterfly Card

So I've really been lacking in inspiration lately, but when I saw the new card sketch from Sketch~N~Scrap the mojo came right back.   This card came together in no time flat.
I flipped the sketch on it's side, but left the embellishments where they were.  I also moved the scallop to the top of the card and flipped it around as well.  I wasn't so sure I liked it as I was going, but when it was all done I was actually very pleased with it.
