We R Memory Keepers Laser Square Unboxing

I recently shared on my youtube channel the unboxing of my new toy!  I'll be back with a review shortly when I feel I've used it enough to give you a good pro/con list.  Enjoy

A House Divided

So if you were to come to our home on any given Sunday you'd see me heartily routing for the Miami Dolphins and hubby trying to find the Steelers on a channel we get.  This year the two teams happens to play each other in the Wild Card game in Pittsburgh, which is about five hours from us.

We asked my sister and brother-in-law to watch the kiddos for us that Sunday so we could watch the game in piece.  The readily agreed, but we got a call a few hours later and they said...why don't we watch them all day and you guys can go the game!

So...I've had this photo of us at the game since then waiting for the perfect sketch or challenge.  That came this week in the form of a sketch from Clique Kits and a challenge from Challenge Yourself. For Challenge Yourself I needed to use negative space, which I think I did well in the upper left and lower right.

For my title I used a combination of thickers (my favorite Amy Tan ones) and wood veneer.  I painted the wood veneer with an acrylic paint I received in a Studio Calico kit YEARS ago.  This did remind me why I don't buy wood veneer alphabets anymore though...only one E in the whole thing!

For the embellishments I printed a series of logos using the print and cut feature on my Silhouette Cameo.  I then inked the edges to make them stand out just a bit as the white edge was just seemed to get lost even though the background was black.

I added some matching sequins and some Steelers ribbon I've had in my stash for ages, and called it complete.  I felt like adding anything more would have been just to much.  Thanks so much for checking my layout out, and you never know...if you stay tuned you may see the same photo done for the dolphins side!

Crayola Experience

Back with another layout this week! This one for was for Scraplift Sunday at the Paper Issues Facebook group.  They give you an awesome layout to lift each week.
The design of this was very out of my comfort zone with the triangles, but hey...gotta try something new.  The papers are from Bella Blvd and were included in an old My Creative Scrapbook creative kit.  I have gotten seven layouts out of the kit so far and there is still a lot of product left.
Hope to be back soon with more great inspiration, and thanks as always for checking my layouts out and commenting.

Noel

Happy March everyone!  I'm back today with a layout that I created for a design team application.

This is a photo of our two kiddos around Christmas time at a local historic hotel.  I printed the photo on the Epson Picturemate hubby bought me for Christmas.  It has been such a scrapping blessing to be able to just print the photos I want to scrap right now rather than having to wait to go to the studio.

The paper is from the December 2015 My Creative Scrapbook Kit.  Yes...I'm still using up older kits. I've really been working on getting them done!  The doily is a white one from amazon (I bought 1,000) and I used acrylic paint to make it red.

The real fun thing for me on this layout is the typed journalling in the bottom left corner.  I made that on my "new" typewriter that I got for Christmas.  It's a beautiful aqua one from the 1950's that still works wonderfully.  My SIL got is on eBay for a quarter of what the new We R Memory Keepers one cost.

Thanks for stopping by and I can't wait to share more layouts with you this month.
