Close To My Heart Confetti Wishes Layout

Hi all - I'm here with your Friday Inspiration for Paper Crafter Anonymous.  This week I created a blank layout, using the Confetti Wishes paper, for my friend who is due in November with her little girl. What I liked about this layout was it used one piece of paper, just cut and flipped.  It's great way to get more mileage out of your patterned paper.

The paper is white, but the Recollections tag I wanted to use was more of an aged look.  To make them match I took Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink and rubbed layer on layer on until they were a more similar color.  Just another tip to get more out of what you own.

I envision the photos on this page  in a topsy turvy fashion.  Kind of skewed like the gorgeous cake in the picture.  Maybe before I give it to her I'll place the photo mats in the fashion and write the picture size on them to make it even easier for her.

Hope my post has inspired you to try to think about your products in a different color scheme, and how to make the most of each piece.  Until next week...keep scrapping!

September SSIB Layouts

Dropping in with a really quick post showing what I completed with the inspiration photos from ScrapStuffz Inspired By.  This month we had two awesome inspiration photos to work with.

Inspiration one:

The office supplies reminded me of back to school.  This inspired me to scrap our son's pre-school picture. I used Authentique's Accomplished collection as I felt the black, white and craft would balance the loud, busy background of the photo.

Inspiration Two:

The ferris wheel photo inspired me to scrap pictures from when we went to the Clearfield County Fair with my Brother, SIL and Nephew. I used a star cut file from the Silhouette store and an Echo Park boy collection, but the name escapes me at the moment. I stitched on my layout for the first time and while I like the effect I had trouble keeping the sew easy tool straight.

I hope one of the photos inspires you to come and join us.  I'd love to see what you create.  Even if you don't get to the challenge leave me a comment with how this inspires you and I'll be sure to come visit.  Until next time...Keep Scrapping!

Close To My Heart Friendship Card

Hi everyone Lyne here with another inspiration for Paper Crafter Anonymous.  Hubby and I are blessed with an almost four year old son so any pink I use usually shows up on my cards.

As is my usually style I kept this card really clean and simple.  A few gems and some banners made from matching paper are the main embellishment. As a tip for you - the striped banner is actually the part at the bottom of the paper we usually cut off and throw away.

The stamped heart sits on some pop dots, and is colored with copic markers.  The markers match the aqua dots in the top patterned paper.

Hope you're enjoying seeing what I've been creating and I'd love to have you as a follower of my blog.  Until next week....Keep Scrapping!

Chid's Play Challenge - Cat In The Hat

Welcome to another fun reveal for Child's Play Challenge.  We were asked this time to create layouts with the book Cat In The Hat as inspiration.
We don't read a lot of Dr. Suess around here for some reason so it took me a while to find my inspiration.  It was only after I realized the my nephew A's favorite movie was The Lorax that it came together for me.  After that this layout only took about an hour to complete.
I used the Hey Baby collection by Simple Stories for all the paper since they matched A's shirt so well, but kept the look soft.
The layout of the photo and embellishments was inspired by one of Stacia Brandt's Queen & Co guest layouts.  She used circles, but otherwise the placement is very similar.
I love how this came out and I placed it in a memory tray for my SIL to hang in her office.  I hope she love it too.  Come over and join our challenge with how this theme inspires you.  Until next...Keep Scrapping!

Close To My Heart Raven Card

Welcome to another Friday reveal for Paper Craft Anonymous.  This week I made a clean and simple Halloween card.  I used the bird from the Believe in Yourself set, heat embossed him in black and fussy cut.
I used the front and back of one of the designer papers from the collection Scaredy Cat as my card bases. I like using both the front and back since they are designed to match each other.
Lastly I dry embossed some matching purple paper with a diagonal stripe.  I felt the dry embossing added interest, but didn't overwhelm the patterns.
I used this bird for Halloween since he looked a little creepy to me, but I could definitely see him also being used for more steampunk cards or even a mixed media canvas.  What would you use him for?
     Until next time...Keep Scrapping!

Fast and Furious Boy Card

Welcome to my first post for Paper Crafter Anonymous...the awesome team run by Close To My Heart rep Heather.
For my first project I chose to make a boy card since I use a lot of those.  I also made this card entirely from scraps so I could show what beautiful results you can get with your leftovers.
I didn't put a specific sentiment on the outside of the card on purpose.  I wanted to be able to store it in my stash and use it for maybe birthday, high school graduation or even a boy get well card.
I hope you enjoyed my first creation for this blog, and will come each week to check out what I've created.  Until next time...keep scrapping!

Winter Blue Layout

I'm been really busy scrapping lately as I have another reveal up.  This time for Southern Girls Challenge with the theme of Winter Blues.
I used Echo Park's Keeping Cozy collection from the 6x6 pad, and a sketch I found through google images.  I looked it up on my phone though, and haven't been able to find it since so I can't direct you to who created it :-(
I also used my Epiphany Crafts epoxy machines to create my embellishments.  The star on the right and the deer on the left of the photos are both from the paper pack.
I hope you'll come join us from the Winter Blues challenge, and create something chilly as we have the last hot days of summer here.  Until next time...Keep scrapping!

Child's Play Challenge - Sequins Halloween Layout

It's time for another reveal at Child's Play Challenge and this time we needed to use sequins.  For me...that was no challenge at all!  Even though I have a boy I love using boy color sequins.  I even have wood grain sequins; which I think are my favorite.
For this layout I pulled out an old Doodlebug Designs Halloween collection and the one photo we have of M on his first Halloween.  We don't celebrate, but they were having a party at school so I bought him a great pumpkin shirt.
I usually struggle with strips for some reason, but I love how these came out and how they offset how dark his shirt is.
I hope my layout inspires you to come over and play with us.  I'd love to see what you create with sequins. Until next time...Keep Scrapping!
