Moving Mountains Layout

Time for another Lasting Memories reveal.  Out challenge this month is about vacations and this week we were challenged to use the prompt Mystic Mountains.  I was instantly stumped because we don't go anywhere with mountains.  After a little thought though I realized I had a collage photo of the trip my sister took to Israel last summer.  There was my vacation piece of the puzzle.  I incorporated the mountains pieces in my title as my sister is going to move mountains in her profession choice.
I used the color challenge at ScrapMuch? to help me with my color choices.  I used a pink, green and two shades of brown to meet the challenge with an older collection by Echo Park called Paradise Beach.  The Adventure title is by Heidi Swapp.  The sequins and wood heart are by Studio Calico.
So how does the Mystic Mountains Vacation challenge inspire you?  If you enter the challenge too please let me a link here so I can make sure to see!  Until next time...Keep Scrapping!

Catherine Pooler, founder of StampNation and Creativity Grows has generously donated a trial membership to Stamp Nation for us to give away to those who hop along with us.

To be entered in the drawing, just comment and follow each of the blogs on the hop today. That’s it, it is just that easy.  Prizes will be drawn and announced on Theresa’s blog

You should have arrived here from Sandy's blog.  If you get lost along the way, or need to start back at the beginning, just head over to Theresa's blog.

Now on with the projects!

So I saw this awesome scraps card on...oh gosh...I can't find it on my pinterest board or my bloglovin feed  anymore :-(  I wanted to give the girl who came up with the idea credit....if you're reading this and it's you...please chime in with your blog!  Lori found me - and to see her original card click: Here

Anyway, She took her scraps and used them all across her card with a horizontal saying.  I've been trying to using my scraps after each layout to create a card.  That way I don't have a huge drawer of scraps anymore and I have a nice stash of cards.  So using her idea I created the following, but went vertical instead of horizontal:

So you're next stop is Lisa's awesome blog, but before you go please sign up to follow me through google or bloglovin, and follow my Facebook page, for a chance to win a prize package of my choosing.

Here is the entire line-up:

Best of Friends Layout

Happy Sunday everyone.  I'm sharing a new layout today that I created for the newest Lasting Memories Challenge called Best of Friends.  I had lots of choices for this layout, but no one is better friends that my parents.  In this photo they had been married 41 years!
Even though I knew I wouldn't have this layout up in time to enter the challenge I used the sketch Laura Whitaker created for the February challenge at Let's Capture Our Memories.  I started out several years ago not liking sketches, but now I rarely create without one.  Laura is probably my favorite sketch artist by far.
The paper I used for this layout was from the Authentique Anchored collection, and sticker sheet.  The colors in this collection matched the photo perfectly, and the pop of red is tribute to my mom's favorite color and signature lip color.  The enamel dots are from Queen & Co.
So...who is your best friend, or your ultimate best friend couple?  Come show us!  Until next time...Keep Scrapping!

Swimming Lessons Layout

I've had these pictures sitting on my desk for years, and finally found the perfect sketch to use to get them down.  The sketch is by Laura Whitaker for the ScrapMuch? challenge blog. She does the most awesome sketches.
Despite the fact that I love how this came out, it got off to a VERY rough start.  Ask my friend Stacia...I tried a million combination before I pulled out my Studio Calico kits and started digging around.  When it finally came together it went down super fast.
The papers and embellishments are all from various Studio Calico kits, and I got so into mixing and matching I couldn't even tell you which ones.  I know all of mine are a year old so it's all older collection stuff.
The stamps are from a 2013 Heidi Swapp set I recently picked up on clearance at Michael's.  I stamped with my Avery Elle Pigment Ink Pad in AquaMarine. I liked the tone on tone effect so that the stamping added something, but wasn't "in your face." so to speak.  I bought this ink pad on a whim, knowing pigment inks take longer to dry, and I'm very happy with it.  It stamps very nice/even and the color stays try to what's on the pad.  I'll definitely be looking for more.
The heart and wow triangles were transparencies in the kits, but I created the backgrounds for them with watercolors.  I've had my eye on this Artist Loft set and when it went 40% off at Michael's I picked it up.  Worked like a charm for this application, and I hope to try to incorporate it more often.
Well, I think that's enough description for now...are you bored yet :-)  Even though this isn't my normal style I'm just in love with how it came out!  Until next time...Keep Scrapping!

Partners In Crime For Lasting Memories

If you following me on Instagram you've seen a sneak peak of my Partner's in Crime layout for the new Lasting Memories Challenge using the February 15th sketch over at Stuck? I wasn't able to submit this for the challenge, but I loved the sketch so much I wanted to it anyway.
I used products from the My Mind's Eye Remarkable collection for my paper choices.  I also used some of the collections embellishments along with wood veneers from Studio Calico and sprays from Heidi Swap and Tattered Angels.  I also used an Amy Tangerine roller stamp for stamping on my tags.
The photo is one from when our son was very under two and Daddy has just gotten home from work. They are so happy to see each other!  My journalling says..."You and Daddy have so much fun together, but also know exactly how to push each others buttons."
I'm just so happy with how this one turned out.  So who's your partner in crime?  Until next time...Keep Scrapping!
