Tiny Toes

Hi everyone and welcome to the last Scrapping Our Stash blog hop for the year.  I'm your last stop, but you should have arrived here from Majken's blog.
I'm the only one who didn't do Christmas for the hop :-)  I wanted to get the papers in this layout used  up!  It's a very old Scrapbook Generation kit that I couldn't use the way they intended so I challenged myself to use it up.I used it, but still mange to have most of it left...lol
The background and title were cut from my cameo and designed by my friend Stacia.  I them took my cheap watercolor set from Michael's and colored the hearts a pale pink.  The papers from the background and heart fillings are Pink Paislee Bella Rouge. Oh, and the washi tape...hate it on the photo above, but like it in real life...strange!
Thanks for hoping with us today...and all year long!  Can't wait to see what January brings for our hop community.

It's A Girl

I love being on vacation!  I haven't gotten this much done in awhile, and even then it's not much!  This is another photo taken during our daughters newborn shoot.  She was so very good.
This is a sketch from Creative Scrappers and a mood board from Scrap the Girls. The mood board had different shades of pink as well as a gold glitter.  I used the shades of pink and the rest of the mood board reminded me of a celebration, and what's a better reason to celebrate than a newborn baby!
Paper is the It's A Girl collection from Carta Bella.  I will say I had a really hard time matching the pinks on this one to anything in my stash.
Well....I better run - the Christmas cookie timer is calling my name.  Have a Merry Christmas everyone!

Jolly Old Nick

Sunday must be a good day for me a I'm here with another layout to share with you.  This one, just like my last, was inspired by the sketch at My Creative Sketches.  I am also entering it into the anything goes challenge at Lasting Memories.
I used the My Creative Scrapbook kit from December 2015.  Yes - I still have kits that are a year old...even older if I'm honest.
The photo is from breakfast with Santa from this year.  It was a fundraiser for M's school and he wanted to attend so badly, but I was working.  My awesome parents stepped in and took the kids.  We've never been big on the Santa thing, but now that he attends school with kids who are...it's rubbed off.  I guess there are worse things that could rub off right!?
Well if I don't talk to you again this week...Have a Merry Christmas!

Kindergarten

Each time I finally get a layout done and photographed now I'm amazed at how long it's been since I've blogged.
I completed this one a week or so ago and it only took me about an hour.  I swear that since I've been doing boy layouts for six years they come so much easier than doing one for the little lady.
The sketch came from a collaboration between My Creative Scrapbook/Sketches and Creative Scrappers.

The cards and embellishments are from Simple Stories School collection...while the yardstick just came from my stash.  The title is from Paper Wizard. If you haven't checked out their diecuts you really should.  Paper Wizard and Dancing Daisy Designs are my go too for professional layered cuts.
Well - I'm off for now as nap time is almost over.  I hope to check in with you all again sooner than later!

Play Time

I know I've been absent for a LONG time, but I promise I'm trying to work on new inspiration.  I have been keeping my Youtube and Instagram accounts fairly current though.  If you're interested in following me there the links are on the right hand side of the blog.  I've also started a new health experience with Plexus which I also linked in the right tool bar.
Without further ado...Here is a layout I completed with one of my scraptastic kits.  It's of our daughter when she was a month old starting to look and play with her little gym.
The products are mostly Amy Tangerine with some stash items thrown in here and there.  My favorite part of the layout though is the heart and title.  The hearts were created with Faber Castel glass beads. I did a review of the product over on my youtube page...be sure to check it out.  The title I made with my Silhouette Cameo sketch pens.  Can I even tell you how much I loved the effect!
Okay - I better get back to trying to create...quite time is limited around here :-)

Life Is Good In The Country Layout

Hi everyone and welcome to the July Scrapping Our Stash blog hop.  I now I've been absent for awhile, but returning to work has really been cutting into my blogging time...darn bills :-)   You should have arrived here from Alison's blog.  Tell me what you loved most about her project!
Can you believe I'm still working on my Scrapbook Generation kits!  I forget which kit this was, but if I had to guess the paper is from Jillibean soup.  This is our son's second trip to the Clearfield County Fair.  We're actually going again on Wednesday!
Well - that's it today so continue to hop on over to Wendy's blog to see what awesome project she created.

Hello Baby

I'm here today with another layout for Scrapbook Challenges using one of our daughters newborn photos.  This took a totally different turn than the sketch, but I LOVE how it came out.
Except for the sequins and doily all these products come from Simple Stories.  The doily was a plain white one from my stash that I colored with Tim Holtz Broken China distress paint and my waterbrush.  It matches the blue in the paper perfectly.
Thanks for checking out my layout, and as always...if you participate please leave me a link so I can be sure to check it out.

Hello World

I'm up today with another Scrapbook Challenges layout, but it includes several firsts.  It's Julia's blog debut first and foremost.  She was only about two hours old in these photos!  They are my Mom, Dad, Sister, Brother-In-Law and our son meeting her.
The second first is that this is my first scraptastic layout.  When I saw their Drops of Jupiter kit in March and then Eloise in April I knew I had to sign up.  Everything on the layout, except for the pink background and the wood veneer hearts came from the kit.  I love how it all worked together.

Come back next week for a layout showcasing Julia's newborn photo shoot pictures.  I LOVE how it came out.

Happy Winter

I'm happy to be back with another layout today for Scrapbook Challenges.  I am even more thankful than normal to be part of their design team right now.  I think if I wasn't I wouldn't be getting any layouts done...I'd just be holding Julia all day long...
This layout was done with the January 2016 kit from My Creative Scrapbook.  It features washi tape and die cuts from Pebbles, paper and stickers from Echo Park, letters from Doodlebug and a die cut from Tim Holtz.
To make the die cut on the top/bottom of the photos extra special I pressed them into my VersaMark stamp pad and then embossed them with Ranger chunky embossing powder.  It gives the snowflakes a glossy appearance. It's almost like they are glistening.
Thanks for joining me today, and if you ever have any questions about my process or a layout I'd love to answer them!

Big Boy Bed

So I'm sharing a layout with you today for Scrapbook Challenges.  This was a bit of a challenge for me...not because of the sketch, but because of the photos.  The photos are a memory I wanted to scrap, but weren't overly colorful or exciting.  Our son was always a bad sleeper, but when we moved him to his toddler bed he slept so much better.  He loved laying in it "reading" (bottom photo) and even tried to make the bed everyday (top photo).  See why I wanted to scrap them!?
To jazz the page up I used some modeling paste mixed with Tim Holtz distress paint through one of his stencils. The paper layers are all from a DCWV stack.  I really like the stack, but don't like that their papers don't have any matching embellishments.  To rectify this I used some star dies and matching paper.  Using some various size pop dots they look really cool.
The tags at the top, along with the circle at the side are from the Scraptastic subscribers print and cuts.  This is the first time I've used that feature on my Silhouette and it was rather fun.
So what do you think of my creative embellishments?

My Heart Is Full

I'm using up more of my Scrapbook Generation kits.  This double page layout I completed for my sister.  It's photos of her and her new husband while they were dating...their engagement and then wedding.
I have done several layouts of her and our son, but figured now it was time to include our families newest addition...well at the time.  Now that our daughter has arrived I'll have to do some layouts of her and them too!

Better When Laughing

Up today with another layout for Scrapbook Challenges.  This time I used my Silhouette Cameo to create a very simple cut file to mimic the strips in the sketch.  The collection is Jillibean Soup cold avocado soup.  Some enamel dots - splatters - sequins and a picture of my parents and I'm set!

Merry Christmas Scraplift

Ooppss - I'm a day late on my posting for the Scrapbook Challenges.  Forgive my new mommy brain! I really love our challenge this month - scrap lift each other.  I chose to scraplift the page from Katie
I used this 5x7 photo of us from several Christmas' ago.  The paper is all from the December creative kit over at My Creative scrapbook.  If you can't tell I'm really trying to get my kits used up.
Ok - short and sweet today - have soooo much to get dome while J sleeps!

Let It Snow

Time for my second reveal of the month with Scrapbook Challenges.  This is another page based off a sketch. For once I stuck fairly closely to the sketch.
The papers are from Pebbles and I received them in my January My Creative Scrapbook kit.  The pink snowflakes are done with Heidi Swapp modeling paste mixed with a bit of liquitex white modeling paste to tone down the pink color to match the washi tape from the collection. Can you believe I used pink on one of my boy pages!?
A little tip on the embellishments in the top right corner...think outside the box.  Actually, in this case turn the box upside down.  The thing that looks like a snowflake is actually supposed to be an Elsa (Frozen) crown that I cut the crown piece off.
Hope you are inspired to play along!

Let's Do This - Home Depot Layout

I'm up today with another layout for Scrapbook Challenges.  Today I am using a sketch, but as always putting my spin on it.  I dug through my old Studio Calico kits and put bits and pieces from several older kits (all from 2014) together.
I am determined to get a bunch of those papers used this year.  In fact, I'd like to get enough of them used to consider all my SC items used up.  This was my first kit club, and honestly the one I regret signing up for.
Any who...here's my take on the sketch.  This was our son's first trip to Home Depot, and four years later he still asks to go just to walk around!  I hope it inspires you to join the fun!

A Boy And His Dog Layout

I'm up today with my last layout of the month for Scrapbook Challenges.  As a design team we are only asked to complete four projects a month, but I liked this sketch so much I needed to use it too.
The paper is by Bella Blvd and came in one of my Creative Kits from My Creative Scrapbook.  I believe it was the October kit if I had to guess.    All of my edges are inked in opposite colors.  The reds in blue and the whites in red.  It looks really cool in person.
Thanks for popping in today, and if you use today's sketch please let me know!

First Wink Layout

Thank you for joining me for another reveal for Scrapbook Challenges.  As you can tell I've really been enjoying the challenges this month and have gotten so much done.
This is another sketch challenge and of course I had to alter it.  I rotated the sketch and moved the title.  Where I used the two 3x4 pocket cards is where the title was intended to go.

The wink of my title was plain wood veneer.  I took some acrylic pain I had laying around and painted it to match my journalling card.
I also don't know if you can tell in the photo, but I stitched down each side of the block like the dotted lines in the sketch.
I really love how you can take a sketch, and alter it slightly, to make it work for your photos.

Soccer Star Layout

Time for another sketch reveal at Scrapbook Challenges. Please go check out the sketch for this week and see just how much I switched it around to fit the photo I had.
This is our son's first sports photo!  I used an older collection from Carta Bella, and the title is a cut file from Miss Kate's Cuttables that I bought through the Silhouette Store.
Thanks for checking out my layout today, and I hope to see your entry at the challenge blog.

Future Picasso

Welcome to another reveal for Scrapbook Challenges.  This is a Flashback Friday - sketch 197.  The sketches are now in the 470's so imagine how old this one is!
For my page I turned the sketch, and used the July creative kit from My Creative Scrapbook.   It was a beach/summer themed kit, but I changed it around to fit the boldness I wanted for my photos.  The green paper backing the photos has cameras, but you'd never know it since I only used a sliver.  The green of my banner also has all summer words on it, but I cut it in the "wrong" direction your eye doesn't really make the word connection.
I did have a challenge on my title though...no enough letters left for what I wanted it to read.  The letter T and E in future are cut and put together from other letters, and the C is Picasso is actually a U.  it looks better in person than the camera picks up.
Since the photos had such bright colors I didn't really know where to start, but was very happy with how it came out in the end.  Will you be joining us for this sketch?  If you do be sure to leave me a link so I can come see what you created!

FireFighter Layout

I'm so excited to share with you my first layout as part of the design team at Scrapbook Challenges.  The challenge this time was to use chevron paper.

I like chevron paper, and of course have a ton, but as I look at my layouts I realize I don't use it all that often.  This was perfect for me to pull out some of those papers and make myself use them.
The design was actually an older (August 2014) sketch from Scrapbook Challenges.  What is even older is the paper collection...It's from My Mind's Eye and is called Boy Crazy.  It was released in 2013!
I'm so glad that my last few layouts have been using older products.  I really need to make a dent in what I own!  Have you been using up your older products rather than buying new?

Ornaments and Presents Layout

Hi everyone and welcome to the February Scrapping our Stash blog hop.  You should have arrived here from Katrina's page.  Didn't she make an awesome project!?
For my project I pulled out another of my old Scrapbook Generation kits.  I have been working hard on getting these used up to make room in my stash.  I only have about three layouts to print pictures for!
This particular project features products from Simple Stories and pictures of our son and my hubby from Christmas two years ago.  This was one year that his Christmas gift still gets played for regularly!
Next up you want to hop on over to see Allison's wonderful creation.  Before you go though I'd love for you to leave a comment and follow me...all my links can be found on the right.  Have a great day!

The Best Layout

So I'm back today with a stash busting layout inspired by sketch 472 from Scrapbook Challenges. There is a little bit of everything on this layout. The background paper is from my February my Creative Scrapbook Kit.  The paper under the photo is from Simple Stories.  The washi, wood veneer and stars are from Freckled Fawn.  The fiber and OX symbol are from Studio Calico.
The grey dot is modeling paste mixed with grey paint and put through a swiss dot stencil.  The wood veneer also was plain when I started.  I smeared some pink Gelato on them and then moved it around with an aqua brush.  I then dried with my heat tool, and added a second layer to intensify the color and have it offer a contrast from the pink in the washi.
This is a totally different, and girly, layout for me, but I'm very pleased with how it came out.  I'd love your comments!

Love Wedding Layout

Hi All - back today with another layout for a challenge blog.  This sketch came from ScrapMuch!? and I used the colors from their color challenge.  You had to use four and my choices were Lipstick Red, Sweat Pea, Sea Aqua and Grey Plank.
All the paper came from the February Creative Kit that I received from My Creative Scrapbook.  You can see everything I received in my youtube video.  All the papers are from Doodlebug with a random washi thrown in here and there.  While this isn't my normal style I was pleased with how it came out.
Thanks for joining me today, and stay tuned for some new news and blog hops in the next few weeks.

Lil' Stinker Layout

Hi everyone - long time no scrap.  I'm back today with an entry for a new to me challenge site called Scrap The Boys.  They had a fun sketch this month and here is my take...
I used the September kit from My Creative Scrapbook. This was meant to be a travel themed kit, but obviously I didn't use it that way.  The black pieces that frame my picture are chipboard that our son helped me emboss with black powder.
Hope you love my page, and check out the challenge site I found.

It's A Party Layout

Time for another layout - I'm on a roll this week!  I can't believe how quickly this one came together using the sketch from ScrapMuch? Seriously...it was done in under 20 minutes, and I'm usually one that agonizes over where I place everything.
The collection I used was Be Different by Fancy Pants.  It was perfect for the sketch and the subject of my photos.  This was our son, and my nephew, at my aunts surprise wedding last June.  She told us it was a retirement party, but some of us guessed better :-)  The journalling is hidden on the tab that says cousins...pull it up and voila!

Monkey See Layout

Still feeling the affect of the snow here and work is opening several hours late.  I'm not complain about extra time at home!  Today I'm sharing a layout I created using the sketch from My Creative Sketches.
This was the final layout I completed in my kill the kit challenge with Echo Park's All About A Boy.  After this layout I didn't have anything big enough left to even mat a 4x6 photo.  Sad to see my favorite kit go, but happy to be using my stash!

Happy Birthday Layout

Welcome to another snow day post.  This one I completed using the January 15th sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap.  It was perfect to highlight this larger photo of our family from our sons 2nd birthday back in 2012.
The paper is a combination of a really old DoodleBug Collection and just and old Doodlebug Collection called Hip Hip Hooray.  I outlined the brackets and ampersand to highlight them again the patterned paper.  I also did some hand doodling to look like stitching along the edge of all the papers. In person it really set the design off nicely.

Rub-A-Dub-Dub Layout

Hi all!  We're experiencing winter weather here today so I'm "stuck" inside and getting to work on thing around the house and in my scrappy area..oh darn...lol
I'm sharing with you today a layout I created using the January 15th sketch over at Stuck?.  I challenged myself on this one because I don't usually choose to work with sketches that are like photos strips, but I really enjoyed how this came out.
The paper I used was from an old Echo Park collection called All About A Boy.  It was my favorite collection ever I think, and the layouts I completed his month killed the kit.  Happy to have stash used up, but sad at the same time that my favorite collection is gone.  Anyone else go through that with their favorite collections?

Tractor Boys

Thanks for joining me for another layout share!  I'm thankful for all your views and comments.  This layout was created with the free sketch that Scrapbook Generation put on their new Facebook challenge site.  Be sure to look them up at SG Scrap Squad.
I used at WRMK collection designed by Teresa Collins that I've had in my stash forever.  Some Freckled Fawn embellishments, doodling, Tim Holtz splatters and I was done.  Easy peasy on this one and I was pleased with how the colors popped on black!

Going For Gold

Thanks for joining me today while I share my newest layout created off the sketch from GrandDiva's Creative Corner.  It was originally a two page sketch, but I only used the left hand side.  I also used the the mood board from Creating with Paper & More. The mood board had a wood sign in it inspiring the wood grain paper I used for my background.  It also had a child blowing snow that looked like stars...hence the star accents I used around my page.  Lastly, the board had a deer in the left corner. My husband is an avid hunter so it inspired me to scrap about his recent achievement at work.
Last, but certainly not least, I went with Rochelle Spear's challenge of using twine or ribbon on your layout.  I had a ton of both these items in my stash, but never really use them so this was perfect for me.
I also wanted to include the comments that were posted when his job put the achievement on their wall.  I didn't want to include four full size photos on the page, and I didn't want to shrink the photo of him down so I used some flip flaps from Close To My Heart to fit them all in.

Thanks for bearing with me for my super long post.  Hope you love the layout.

Zoo Fun

Welcome to my first completed layout of 2016.  Hope you have had a great start to the new year.
This layout has several new things for me...gesso and the packaging technique that I learned from Adele at Inkie Quill's videos.  So I used gesso on the page and them some modeling paste.  I  took some mist on a piece of old packaging, added water, and them smooshed it over the modeling paste.  I wanted to mimic the splashes the penguin was making in he water on the zoo smart car.
The paper is from an old Lawn Fawn collection called into the woods.  I didn't have any embellishments from this collection...if it even had any...so I cut some of the critters from the paper to use.  I figured they were appropriate since the page was about a trip to the zoo.
I used a sketch from Stuck?Sketches and then used some Simple Stories photo flap thingies to add more photos. The journalling is also under the floppy thing so that the memory is there, but not adding to the busyness of the layout.
Hope you enjoyed my attempt at trying something new!

Top 15 in 2015

Happy New Year!  I am very excited to be playing along with the Paper Issues design team on heir top 15 in 2015 blog hop.  Be sure to leave me a comment as to which one is your favorite and why.  Without further adieu here are my top 15 in no particular order.
